Grapefruit Seed Extract

What It Grapefruit Seed Extract?

Grapefruit Extract (GSE) is made by converting grapefruit seeds and pulp into a very acidic liquid. This liquid is loaded with polyphenolic compounds, including quercitin, helperidin, campherol glycoside, neohelperidin, naringin, apigenen, rutinoside, poncirin, etc. The polyphenols themselves are unstable but are chemically converted into more stable substances that belong to a diverse class of products called quaternary ammonium compounds. When derived from grapefruit, these compounds exhibit a broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, with none of the toxic side-effects of chemically derived quaternaries. In acute oral toxicity studies, it was found that you would have to take 4,000 times the normal adult dose of GSE to risk a 50% chance of poisoning. To elaborate, the LD50 dose of liquid GSE would have to be consumed by a 200 pound person drinking close to one pound of pure liquid GSE daily for two weeks.

Grapefruit Seed Extract Uses:

GSE has been used for many years in hospitals in the US as the disinfectant and sanitizing agent of choice. Liquid GSE in laundry ensures linen is fungi and bacteria free. GSE in carpet shampooers will kill staph, strep, sapergillus, salmonella and many other pathogens. It is even being used in operating rooms at higher concentrations of 1% to completely disinfect. The FDA tested grapefruit seed extract in 1990 with 200 patients who had internal parasitic infections, they found that it gave “more symptomatic relief than any other treatment”. Research at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil found the substance to be 100% effective in skin disinfecting when used as a pre-surgical preparation compared to a 72% effectiveness rate for alcohol. GSE has also been tested by the USDA, Pasteur Institute in France, and numerous physicians and found to be a very effective broad spectrum antibiotic effectively killing salmonella, E. Coli, candida, herpes, influenza, fungi, and more.

Some applications could include sanitizing drinking water. When traveling abroad, if you mix ten drops for each gallon of clear water and agitate or mix vigorously while letting it rest for a few minutes, a very small amount of liquid GSE will keep a covered bottle of clean distilled water safe for a very long time.

For internal use, the rule of thumb for gastrointestinal disorders, including bacterial, fungal, parasitic, or viral, is to use one drop of liquid concentrate per 10 pounds (5kg) of live weight. Capsules are taken as recommended on bottle.

GSE appears to be good natural broad spectrum antibiotic with limited to no toxicity. It can be used safely with years of continuous use for chronic infections with yeast. Sore/strep throat, gingivitis, acne, dermatitis, cracked lips/ shaving cuts, sinusitis, ear & eye infections, ringworm, athlete's foot, jock itch, dandruff, nail fungus, colds/flu, cold sores, warts, leaky gut syndrome, Kidney stones, nausea, stomach flu, cancer, AIDS are but a few of the GSE’s health uses. Always consult your doctor for persistent symptoms.
