Meet Dr. M. Curtis Hobson DC, CME

Second Generation Chiropractor

Dr. Hobson, is a second generation Chiropractor. He was born and raised in St. George, Utah where he completed his 4 year undergraduate education at Dixie State University and SUU, graduating Cum Laude from DSU.

He went on and again graduated Cum Laude with his Doctorate in Chiropractic degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences.

Education is not only important to Dr. Hobson, but something he enjoys and the way he functions in practice. After moving to Southern Utah he taught in the biological sciences departments at SUU and DSU for 8 years. 

Dr. Hobson carries additional certifications as a Certified Health Coach, and a Certified Medical Examiner for the DOT, he is M1 certified in Graston and has studied under some the of the top soft tissue experts in the USA. Dr. Hobson has lectured professionally on nutrition and is the Official Chiropractor for SUU athletics, and for the Mixed martial arts fight club in Cedar City.

​As a Chiropractor in Cedar City, Dr Hobson has worked with athletes in a variety of sports including working as the Official Chiropractor for SUU athletics, and for the Mixed martial arts fight club in Cedar City he works with professional cycling, volleyball, football, gymnastics, soccer, track and dance.  He has successfully treated a wide variety of sports, muscle, nerve, and joint injuries.

​Dr. Hobson believes that an important aspect of treatment is to create balance: emotionally, mentally and physically and is happy to serve the Cedar City and surrounding areas.

Mindy Calvez  LMT

Hi, my name is Mindy Calvez Lead Licensed Massage Therapist here at Cedar City Chiropractic and Active Health. I earned my Associates degree in Business at Iowa State University and earned my massage license at European Massage School in Las Vegas Nevada. My goal is to help people live better and more fulfilling lives with the healing benefits of massage. I believe the body and mind work like a machine and by bringing in different modalities and combining them to fit each individual's needs. My results focused massage technique combines myofascial, deep tissue, active release, sports massage, blading, flossing, and taping.

Meet Matias Quintanilla NP

Family Practice Specialist

Matias Quintanilla grew up in Cedar City Utah. He has always had a passion for helping others and wanted to pursue a career in the medical field from an early age. He started his medical career at the age of 18 by getting his EMT Basic certification and shortly after joined the Utah
Army National Guard as a combat medic. Matias served with the 2/222 FA headquarters battalion in Cedar City Utah. He was later deployed to Iraq with the triple duce from January 2005 to June 2006. After returning from Iraq, he attended Southern Utah University and finished the prerequisites to enter the Paramedic Program at Dixie State University where he graduated as Paramedic in 2007. Matias worked Ground ambulance for five years he also gained Certification as a Critical Care Transport Paramedic. In 2010 Matias Started flying as a flight paramedic in helicopters and fixed wing aircraft for Classic Lifeguard. While at Classic Lifeguard Matias became a company instructor for
Advanced airway and ventilation techniques, and a simulation instructor teaching fellow coworkers in lifesaving procedures on a life like mannequin. He also gained a certification as a certified flight paramedic.

Zoe Jones LMT

Zoe Jones is an accomplished massage therapist based in Southern Utah. She has a passion for healing and wellness and making a positive impact on the health of her patients. She honed her skills and developed a deep understanding of body mechanics, as a graduate of Zion Massage College. When she's not helping others find relief and rejuvenation with her gifted touch, Zoe finds joy and fulfillment in running amidst the breathtaking beauty of Southern Utah, and playing guitar and piano.

Meet Dr. Jake  Potter DC, CME

Dr. Potter and his wife, Josie, are both from Rexburg Idaho. He received a degree in Exercise Physiology and later graduated cum laude from Logan University as a Doctor of Chiropractic where he received a service award for his contributions to the school, and the students housed there.

​Dr. Potter began to meditate regularly during his time at BYU-Idaho, and that carried through to chiropractic school where he joined and then led and facilitated a club on campus focusing on sustainable movement, and mindful meditation. He became a certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher from the School of Positive Transformation. Dr. Potter loves sharing mindfulness, meditation, and movement advice.

​Dr. Potter now enjoys attending and participating in community events and being a source of information for those living in Southern Utah.
