Kinesiology Taping at Cedar City Chiropractic and Rehabilitation

You are going to bring the arm up to I’d say a little bit passed halfway where it hurts so it will support the muscle that way. When I work with, this tape, general good rule is to start, if you gotta go underneath the clothing, is start there. Because if you start here and you’re pulling, sometimes you’ll pull way far and then you are really digging in there. So start right here and go out. Now you know why it’s easier to work on boys. They can just take their shirt off and be done with it. But I definitely don’t do that to my female patients. Then you rub it on. I just use that part of my hand. If you want to put your arm against the wall, so you don’t feel like you have to hold it up. Is that easier? Yeah. Okay. Get tiring after a little while. You want to make sure all the corners and edges are down. Otherwise they will peel up. And you don’t want them to, so… Okay. So, I’m going to have you use your other hand Erica, and grab all of that and just kind of pull it to your left. So right there we are going a little bit long on the tape. Which, that pre-cut tape, I hate to waste tape, so that’s not going to hurt having it long. It can help. Okay you can relax there. So, when you are getting dressed, you don’t want to pull your clothes rough up that. You want to pull clothes over. Any spot that it could rub up against it. And so the middle piece what I like to do is fold it in half, and then, right in the middle, and break it in the middle. Because you don’t want to touch this with your fingers. Because if you touch it, it becomes less sticky and doesn’t want to adhere as good. Two to three hours before exercising and getting in the shower or bathing or getting in the pool or whatever. But, once it’s after that three hours, you’re good to swim in it, whatever, get it wet, and it should stay pretty good still. Alright so…and this I don’t really do too much stretch with it. And try not to get it on this part of the arm, because when you peel it, that’s really a sensitive spot. Alright, pull that over once again for me Erica. Now just lay that down. Same thing in the front. That’s a sensitive area. Okay you can relax now. Okay put the arm down. So that’s the finished…product. So lift that arm up. See how that feels. Yeah it feels good. Okay good.
